Summary  of Guest Lecture held on 6thNovember’2017

Guest  Lectureon MEDICAL IMAGING EQUIPMENT – 50 YEARS OF PROGRESS, RELATED EDUCATION,IMPACT ON    MEDICINE AND CURRENT  Trends .Resource faculty forthe guest lecture was      Prof. Slavik Tabakov, FIPEM, FHEA, FIOMP,  President IOMP ,King’s College London, UK and  Visiting Faculty of Rajasthan University ofHealth Sciences, Jaipur. Dr Tabakov started his talk with a background of past50 years medical physics and engineering invented and introduced in clinicalpractice new imaging methods, which revolutionised medical diagnostics, and nowform the basis of contemporary medicine. Prof. Slavik Tabakov introduced the concept of  X-ray Image Intensifier  , Gamma Camera, Ultrasoundimaging, Computed Tomography, Spiral ComputedTomography and 3D imaging , Impedance Tomography, EPID (electronic portal imagingdevice), HybridImaging Systems: SPECT/CT, PET/CT, PET/MR

2005-2015 provedto create  NewHorizons of Medical Imaging Methods:  МR angiography, Molecular Imaging and Personalised medicine ,Tractography – Diffusion Imaging (DTI)

Thecollaboration between medicine, physics and other sciences as holistic approach is considered as one of the mostsuccessful inter-professional collaborations of 20th century, whichis now basis of todays medicine The revolutionary progress of medical imaging methodswill be driver of the future modelling in medicine in 21st century.Development of Education in medical physics andengineering is of primary importance for the clinical application of medicalequipment .
